PRAYERHOUSE BREAKTHROUGHS: Friday, I went with a couple of ladies to Chimwale with the purpose to establish a Woman Service in the “Prayerhouse”. In the late 90’s Chimwale was full of traditional “Njaus” – an eccentric, heathen group of dancers with masks. At that stage I arrived from Petra College for Children Ministries to give training on Children evangelism at HEFSIBA. I was challenged to make a breakthrough after one missionary has suggested that we shake the dust from our shoes. By the grace of God and the help of the HEFSIBA students, a breakthrough came. Children came to belief in Christ and later their parents. Today the church council consist of ‘ex-Njaus’ and there is hundreds of believers in “Prayerhouses” around Chimwale. So much so that Ds Samuel Bessitale asked me to assist with the expansion of the place so that it can become an independent congregation with their own reverend at the end of this year, if it is the Lord’s will.
EXPECTED FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGHS: All our meetings start again on Monday in all their glory. We start with a meeting of our Financial Committee which is followed by a meeting of our Academic Committee. Tarisai, our treasurer from Zimbabwe has arrived (without wife or child), so we need to face our financial position early in the year. The subsidies for our Theological students are coming in nicely – THANK YOU!
WATER BREAKTHROUGH: We want to try to pump water from the borehole to the upper water tanks to see if we can get water to our lecturers and other personnel – it will definitely be a breakthrough if we have running water and if we can shower!
STUDENT BREAKTHROUGHS: We anticipate 70 new students for this year – a record to date. Among them we expect the new mayor, the Head and Permanent Secretary of the Frelimo Governing Party and the Head of the Safety Police. Can you imagine how our community will change if these men change.
